About The Course
Businesses require IT to remain competitive and provide their customers with the best products and services. IT professionals are in greater demand as companies discover ways to use technology to their advantage. Thus, a career in IT will be the most valuable investment for your future.
The Level-3 Foundation Diploma in IT is a 60-credit qualification (equivalent to one A Level). The objective of the course is to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to work in the IT industry or progress to study further.
This qualification is designed to provide each learner with the opportunity to develop sector knowledge and acquire contemporary skills and practises in computer systems, networks, coding, website development, mobile communications, cyber security, and social media for business.
The Level-3 course comprises 6 modules and 6 written assignments. Each module contains 40 hours of guided instruction and an additional 30 to 50 hours worth of optinal materials containing recommended exercises, readings, Internet resources, and self-testing exercises.

Course Curriculum
Computer Systems
The module covers the basic English skills that you will need in order to complete the rest of the course successfully. There are no specific questions on spelling and punctuation in the examination, but you will be expected to punctuate and spell correctly, as well as write good, grammatical English
Coding and Website Development
This module covers questions that are designed to assess reading comprehension (AO1: the ability to read with understanding and select information in an appropriate way from the passages). Questions will be asked on passages which are linked by their theme or subject matter.
Networks
This section tests your ability to write, according to clear guidelines, in response to material that will appear on the examination paper.
Mobile Communications
Reviews come in all shapes and sizes and these days, and online reviews can even make or break a business. For the purposes of the exam we will be looking at longer reviews, rather than the short ones found on review sites like Trustpilot.
Cyber Security
This module covers some specific formats involved in transactional writing including instructions, reports, letters, reviews, blogs, articles and leaflets.
Social Media for Business:
This course focuses on how businesses can effectively leverage social media platforms. Topics include digital marketing strategies, content management, audience analysis, and the impact of social media on brand awareness. The module also covers social media analytics and performance measurement of campaigns.
Written assignments
The Level 3 Foundation Diploma in IT has 6 modules and 6 written assignments. On completion of the modules, students will be given access to the assignments. The assignments are approximately 5,000-8,000 words each. Students are provided support on the modules and assignments via the ‘Tutor’ section of the learning platform.
